TYPES OF SHOTS – view clip(start 5 minutes in) XLS – Extreme Long Shot– This view is so far the subject isn’t visable, can also be used for an establishing shot.
LS – Long Shot – Subject is in the entire shot – (head and feet are seen)
MS – Medium Shot- Part of the subject is in the shot–(Head to stomach)
CU – Close Up– A certain feature or part of the subject takes up the whole frame. (Head shot)
Over the shoulder– looking from behind a person at the subject Point of View– shows a view from subjects perspective PANNING– camera PANS from left to right/right to left Dolly Shot– camera is on a dolly to follow the subject (moving shot) Discuss with students the camera set up, where the camera is set up and where the subject stands, using different camera shots. Also it is very important to use a Tri Pod at all times while shooting, if it is a moving shot a dolly is needed and can be created using charts or scooter. Example of multiple shot :
